Interesting read and video, I must say that the nostalgia bit intrigues me, but I can make bad portraits with just about any of my digital cameras. All it takes is gnormous lights, soft lenses with a stack of ND filters, and tons of softening, desaturation etc. in Lightroom. There is a large and apparently growing population of wedding and portrait photographers who are going to the Pentax 645 film bodies for at least some of their work.
