Well taken points. I want to say that I had nothing to do with the horseshoe's
being hung there.
Not speaking to any of your points, just feel like letting you know I didn't
decorate the scene.
The horseshoe (oddly, very thin) together with the somewhat more prominent
orchard trees, I feel balance off acceptably
with the heaver fencepost.
An element not spoken too, I was very much taken by the wheat like foreground
grasses.

Appreciate your commenting, Bob!

I really like the idea of that, and I really like the scene, the the light,
colours and the overall ambiance, but there's a couple of things that for me
mean it doesn't quite work.

First is the fact that the top of the horseshoe is lost in the background, so
it doesn't quite stand out enough; second is that the horseshoe and the
fencepost divide the frame more or less evenly and they are of different visual
weights, so the composition is unbalanced and my eye can't settle on one or the
other.

It would have been better to have the horseshoe on its own as a point against
the background; perhaps a bit closer so more detail was available, and a touch
more blur to the background.

But a lovely scene and well worth going back tomorrow in the same light, if you
can.
