For work, I use a "late 2008" unibody MacBook Pro, running Lion but badly

Our computer guy says I can go with either Yosemite or Mavericks. Whichever I

I use a range of apps, from MS Office to radiology image viewers.

Thoughts?

what version are you coming from? if from 10.6 or earlier, you will lose the ability to run PowerPC apps; this matters surprisingly much to some people, not at all to others; MS Office 2004 is one that won't run

there's a serious wifi connection problem for some Yosemite users; i haven't followed it completely because i'm not running it yet, but the next release of Yosemite may have fix

Yosemite is the only version that can run Apple's new Photos app, though personally i'll be with Aperture for a while yet
