Hi JCO,
It is a sweet little gem. It`s my night wide. A little soft wide open,
but great contrast and color. Sharp as a Tak stopped down a
little. Flare resistance is real good. It has a two speed focus
mechanism, when you turn the focus ring all the way from
CF to infinity you can feel it engage about 2/3rds of the way,
that is normal, so don`t be alarmed. Vivitar made a 58mm
wide all metal round hood that works nicely on it, I have a pic
of the hood if you`re interested and want to try and find one.
As far as I know, all the VS1 28/1.9`s are VMC
multi-coated, and a pretty good coating it is.
