It was merely a quibble, Jack. Shorelines can be deceptive measures of "level" since the may "fall away" from you or bend closer. In any event, I tend to think of off-kilter in terms of degrees of rotation, since that is normally how I try to fix mine in Photoshop. I sometimes make use of the selection rectangle to drag horizontal and vertical line checkers where I want to see if something is out of whack. Quick and easy and you can move the selection area around with arrow keys if you want a perfect alignment with some part of your image.
