Well that was a lovely trip - thanks for taking us along! I have some
faves but too lazy to type them out.
As to the geology - hmm looks layer of not too old (geologically
speaking) conglomerate on top of the bed rock and the shape
probably has a lot to do with the direction swirling winds... probably
easy enough to find out with specific coordinates and
the local equivalent of "roadside geology" as you said you were in
Devon , after which a whole layer of geological stuff is named,
it shouldn't be too hard. I'll dig with you.
