Actually, I lied - I did do something like what you did - but not for
trips I had taken, but for the answers to my 48 state route trip
calendar, which was
also a quiz - one you might find fun and certainly should be able to
do. I made the quiz a calendar for cafe press - some sales were made
but no one
that I knew personally completed the route - they just wanted the
"pretty pictures" :-)
The quiz could be done as easily on line using the images of the
calendar on my web page... But as it seems to have failed to entice most
with the
quiz , especially for one special friend of mine, I made a version with
the names of the places on each photo. 48 contiguous states gave me 4 pics
for each month -- anyway, I'll write off list or post about it
separately here .
It turned out to be a bit too tough for many... even though much could
be discovered with the help of mr google.

What KEn Said -
I ache for those western places - even enjoy looking at your map routes.. I've
done a couple of mine with little stickers on a giant US map in my kitchen.
paper maps are stored away all over the place with highlighters and journals to
go along with them...
Right, I usually prefer 'paper' maps over a navigation computer too :)
I'm too lazy to do what you have done so nicely
Yes, that was a lot of work (back on 2001 or so)
I actually made a scan of a Rand-McNally map I think, and used overlays in
Photoshop
to create all the different map/route versions, something like a 100 layers :)
Unfortunaltely the photos where tiny then (500x330 pixels, scanned from film),
the later galleries have larger images. upto 960x600 for the 'Best of' one.
