I agree with your (and a few others') recommendation regarding the upgrade.


I just looked it up, and found that Windows 10 continues to have both
32-bit and 64-bit versions.
(So much for Adobe-LR-6's lack of support for 32-bit systems.)
I wonder, if MS will offer a choice of which version to upgrade to, or it will just blindly install "the same" (as what you had).


As a side not, yes, I switch off all automatic software updates (I allow notifications for update for the OS and some programs), so that I can do the update on _my_ schedule. My most recent streak without a reboot on my laptop was somewhere between 3 and 4 months, as I was working on several projects in parallel, and didn't want to loose the state of programs and documents open.
