I had both lenses and didn't like the DA40 very much. Marital capital? over a $100 lens … On the other hand, if you have a partner who is so tight about YOUR enjoyment budget, and you can actually buy the thing without compromising health, home, food, etc, … blow the wad and find a better way to live.
