Nothing beats a range finder for the quietness, an advantage of Leica. The LX's shutter has this distinctive ping in it unlike any other camera I know. Perhaps the shutter spring is a bit strong. I don't think the mirror is loud. But the black LX with grip B is just the coolist looking camera you ever see. The famed Nikon F3 doesn't come close. I put a K35/3.5 on my LX with the Nikon HN-2 black metal hood. It's the daintiest thing. And very very functional, and very very reliable.
