Ann,

My concern is quite the opposite: I am not afraid to loose it, but rather to have if stuck on the lens or filter forever.
:-)

But yes, indeed, I was leaning toward buying the cheap one with good reviews, but then I read a couple of horror stories:
http://www.amazon.com/review/R27V00ILBP08CY
and in the middle of this page:
http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/forums/thread40941.htm
And I became concerned, since I've already had problems separating my polarizer from the lenses before, and at 77mm you usually get more binding then at smaller sizes.

So, I am thinking if I want to risk it...
Or, maybe I should spend some $6 to buy filter wrench at the same time?...

Get the cheapie - then when you lose it , it won't cost too much to replace...

As to other sage step advice, better to put the 77 filter on the lens with the 67 thread than the reverse- but I'll wager that
occured to you .
