Sorry to hear about your troubles.
But why did you go for the more obscure cards and chipsets?
I remember that I researched when I was buying, and Transcend card that
I suggested had a good compatibility record, and worked for me even on
WinXP:

As far as I remember it has NEC/Renesas chipset.
(Although I see now somebody's comment complaining about drivers for
64-bit Windows, if you install correct drivers, it works just fine:

power! I'm requesting a replacement and if that does not work... to hell
with it!
