There used to be a thing that people used in offices for projecting overhead 
transparencies (perhaps it was called an 'overhead transparency projector') 
which was essentially a lightbox with a mirror on a stick. You could probably 
find one real cheap and put a bunches of slides on the lightbox and look at 
them projected on a cloud over Manhattan or something.
