The Saturday shots of the Western Metals #88 are nice and crisp, too.
I like the head-on shot of Nicole on Saturday (#34 of 58).  For most

going to mean you get less keepers, but when you do get one right it's

One of the regulars on the IndyCar circuit could reliably nail a pan
shot of cars at full speed at 1/8 of a second (and that's before we had
image stabilisation to help smooth out irregularities in the panning).
I wasn't that good, but I've got a fair number of keepers at 1/30, and
even one or two at 1/20. But 1/250 works pretty well; a car moving at
150mph is going to travel almost a foot during the exposure, which is
going to give you a lot of blur on the wheels (and on any background).
Assuming cars are moving at 100mph or faster, I'd suggest starting at
maybe 1/500, and switching to 1/250 when you get a bit more confident.

My shots from yesterday, looking at the exif go from 1/3200 down to 1/200. I haven't had a chance to do more than sort them, most of them I haven't even looked at closer than thumbnails.

We've been having some interesting issues with the T2 Mustang. Sometimes when she shifts, the clutch doesn't re-engage. It turns out that there are a couple of known issues, one with the clutch (fingers too heavy and if you shift it high RPM it stays depressed) combined with a shifter mount where the isolation rubber gets soft, particularly in the heat, and makes it easy to miss fifth gear.

She has two sessions today, short shifting seems to have helped the problem. The rest of the week she has, at most one session per day, so if need be, the crew will have time to replace the parts, once we can obtain some that'll work.

We are fighting some interesting technical difficulties.  Sometimes when she
tries to shift into fifth either the clutch won't re-engage or the car won't
go into gear. We just heard from a friend of her's at Ford, there are a
couple of known problems with the Mustang GT clutch and with the shifter
mount.

Last night I caught some snaps of Nicole benchracing with some friends, and
her friend asked me what I was doing tonight. It turns out that a couple of
racers are getting married this evening on the beach and they need a
photographer.

Many thanks to John who loaned me his 50-135 and 60-250. Fortunately I
haven't needed the weather sealed lenses yet, but that's just been luck of
the draw with the sessions falling between rainstorms. I have come to the
conclusion that Florida does not have what I consider to be ideal climate.
