Several months ago I was looking to order a split image rangefinder
screen from KatzEye. Their web page pretty much said they were out of
business.
I'm still trying to find a good alternative, focusingscreen.com seems to
be the best, and last of the more reputable providers, but the K5 split
image micro prism focusing screen based on the Nikon K-3 screen for the
FM3A seems to be perpetually out of stock.
I chose that because I've used a Nikon FM3A and I like the screen, but
it's not available. Dammit.
Today I decided to take more action and tried to find out if it was even
still available and stumbled on the KatzEye site. It seems they're
accepting orders for one last batch of focusing screens before closing
down for good.
I guess anybody who's interested should order now, unless they've been
hacked in which case that would be a bad idea...
