Thanks to Frank, Jack, Ann, Eric, and Rick for the comments (and to all who looked). Rick, I understand your initial misgivings but it didn't take me long to realize that adjusting the levels for full contrast did NOT match the light I was seeing that morning. In composing the shot I was purposely hoping to get both herons looking in the right direction so that BOTH of their heads were catching the first rays of sunlight. It was still very very early and lightening the whole scene (for example, to make a more attention getting thumbnail) was something I had to choose to avoid.
Frankly, my biggest concern was leaving the diagonal weed over the Heron's heads that was catching the light. I can't help but think it might be less of a distraction if I got rid of it... but it was there. On Wed, Oct 14, 2015 at 8:22 PM, Rick Womer <[email protected]> wrote: > Wow, Darren, that's lovely.
