It turns out that my camera isn't broken.

A friend posted a question about cleaning dust off her sensor. I turned on my K-x to see what Dust Alert was called in the menu, and it was exhibiting a very weird problem, not unlike I was having with the K-5.

I then realized that my 16-50 was on the K-x. The lens that I didn't send in for repair because the problem turned out to be the switch in the wrong position. Turning off autofocus seemed to solve the problem. I then swapped lenses and the camera started working again.

I put another lens on my K-5, and that is now working properly. The problem with the camera acting like one of the control buttons being held down isn't a problem with the camera, but with the lens.

So, I guess that it is going in to Precision after all.
