Interesting. I recalibrated my old iMac monitor again today to get it closer to
the 5K Retina. I now have a tonality match, but the sharpness and richness
difference is very obvious. Bought a new 72-inch long shell desk from Staples
this week as well and tossed out the 72-inch folding table I’ve been using as a
desk for about 20 years. The new desk required assembly of course and came with
only crude illustrations rather than instructions but a few hours of study and
work resulted in a very nice heavy-duty workspace. I think the desk is meant to
be a two-person workspace in a sweat shop, but it serves my purpose well with
plenty of room for eight hard drives, two 27-inch iMacs and a scanner. The
printer resides on another nearby cabinet.
