Inspired by a recent Petapixel post this was project was completed over my lunchtime today. Images and/or video to follow (eventually).
https://www.flickr.com/photos/pixelsmithy/22742155842/ The lens is a 105mm f/4.5 Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar (mounted in a Compur 0s shutter) that was borrowed from a circa 1930 Maximar 207/3 (which is a mini 6x9 view camera). It's mounted to a drilled out m42 body cap. That was screwed into an Asahi Pentax Bellows II, to which my K-3II was mounted with a screwmount to K adapter. The Compur shutter is set to T (left open) and the DSLR controls the exposure. Believe it or not, this combo achieves infinity focus, something I could NOT get with my earlier attempt at this idea: https://www.flickr.com/photos/pixelsmithy/2754888119/ I used a plastic body cap for this proof-of-concept, but I think I will see if I can find a metal m42 body cap to do it For Realsies. -- Life is too short to put up with bad bokeh. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
