So, since buying my X30 i have been trying to figure out why the pop up flash would not fire, and why i could not access its menu using the flash icon. I have read the manual 4 times, 5 is right out. So after doing some netinfomationing i discovered that the flash will not work if the camera;s sound is set to off. Lo and behold mine was set to off. Netinformation told me that sound needs to be on and set to at least 0. Having done that my flash now emits its fake sun light.
