I received my calendar this morning, Ann. Thanks for doing it, and
for the quick service.

The calendar exceeds my expectations, even thought, based on what I
have seen over the years, I always expect th4 best from your work.

Our trip to Alaska was in 1992, the year of your second trip. We
arrived just before the summer solstice, so we could be north of the
Arctic Circle (in Kotzebue) for the longest day of the year, and
stayed until after July 4, just long enough to experience a 3.5
earthquake and an airport covered with volcanic dust.

I love all the images, but two of them especially resonate with me:
The image of Denali at midnight, because that is the way I remember
it, and the image of Portage Lake and Portage Glacier, which I
remember well. We we were at Portage, they had a explanatory film in
the visitor center, after which they opened the curtains, to reveal
the glacier, RIGHT THERE! I understand that the glacier has receded
so far that no it is no longer visible from where the visitor center
was back then.

I also enjoyed your images because you and I visited much different
parts of Alaska, except for Denali, Portage and Homer. I never got up
to the Alcan, to the Panhandle, or even to Fairbanks. OTOH, we flew
up northwest, to Nome and Kotzebue on the Bering Sea, and southwest,
to the Alaska Peninsula, King Salmon and Katmai.

Another great job, Ann.
