I realized that when I took one of my favorite photos, I almost certainly bracketed it. I just went back and reprocessed it using Lightroom's HDR feature. Here's a set revisiting "Moonshine and Soda", the first is processing it with HDR, the second is another attempt at it, and the third is my original processing.

I find it interesting that I misremembered which lens I took it with, I thought it was with the FA31, and it was the 16-50. It's also interesting that it was bracketed in both aperture and shutter speed, manually, rather than auto bracketing.

In any case, I'm quite pleased with how using Lightroom's HDR allowed me to bring more detail out of the neon signs.
