I've never seriously looked at DCU before, but after reading this thread I'm going to install it.
Something that I think is a good idea, from one of the comments there: "But also the Silkypix version that comes with the Pentax cameras has its advantage: You will find 1:1 the options you can find in the menu of your camera for JPG processing. So you can take a few RAW photos and play around with the software to tweak the settings for your camera in a way that is optimal for you. If you ever would like to use the JPG in-camera generation - this software is a great tool to make this process optimal for your needs." Didn't know that, but it means I can judge on a big screen rather than a 3" LCD, but then transfer the settings to my camera. (I normally shoot RAW+ and often just use the JPEGs for the non-serious stuff.) The latest version is also supposed to outperform Lightroom by a wide margin for the Pixel Shift Resolution images. One commenter even said that the in-camera processing is better than Lightroom's handling of them. -- Life is too short to put up with bad bokeh. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
