I agree, a lot of the feather detail does "show", but not with the snap I was 
hoping for.
This may not be a fair test due to the light and resulting lack of contrast. 
I'm hoping 
that's the case.
Sorry if you thought my reaction hasty and ill considered.
I'm going to leave it at that for now with nothing but the sincerest hope that 
the
lens is everything you and I both hope for.

Doh. Trying to type while walking. All the feather detail shows. Look at the 
100 percent crop of the head. If you're seeing soft, you're not looking at the 
duck pic I posted.
