That's a typical challenge with the "serial" methods of nanolithography:
you can "draw"/fabricate structures on a very small scale (~10 nm), but covering a large area with those structures is {difficult, expensive, lengthy, ... }.

But this snippet reminded me of an old joke from my theater archives:
"Proffesor R. was charged with storing on the head of a pin an illegal copy of the Encyclopedia Britannica."
