i didn't bite then, but eventually did get one for quite close to his gloat
price — $32 incl. shipping; i have an ebay search for them and see one about
it's sturdy, useable, heavy and bulky; i don't know if they are all this
way, but mine has enough stiction that it would be hard to use it precisely
for stacking, but it's quite satisfactory for single-exposure macros as long
as i don't have to carry it a lot
