I agree with ya Bruce - I like the artwork better too.

But this sparks a memory of mine..

Are there any Russell Patterson's in your book? I met him in 1960 - being introduced to him at his apartment on Central Park west by the stage manager for "Russell Patterson's sketchbook" as I was to be hired as a bit player and prop gal in the short livedoff broadway show at the Maidman theatre. It lasted only 3 days, but its starwas Anita Gillette - and she actually won a Theatre world award for her performancein it. I had worked with the stage manager before and he wanted me to work with him on the show - my reward for the backstage stuff was a few bits and understudying Anita for the non-singing sketches she did.

Look forward to your next pin-up

Gil Elvgren was a master. Personally I much prefer his painted
renditions to the source photos. I have a fabulous book, The Great
American Pin-Up, with lots of Elvgren and his contemporaries.

It's almost time for me to do another pin-up shoot. Maybe this year. :)

I stumbled across a video on facebook, and with a little google fu found
several articles that have pinup drawings side by side with the photos used
by the artist. Here is one of them, I found the comparisons interesting.
