IIRC, the same issue plagued the Triumph TR7. It's especially problematic if you use the head as a ground path because you basically have electrical current flowing between two dissimilar metals with an electrolyte solution (coolant, effectively) making a great recipe for chemical reaction. A mechanic friend of mine told me it once took him three days to get the head off a TR7.
