Hi, Larry! You're shooting white on white in the case of the near surf and at a substantial distance at the crashing far surf. Not enough structure in the near surf and that can only be enhanced by more definition. Difficult to gain when shooting such a large area. The far crashing wave would need a longer lens and a fairly fast shutter to catch the surf spray at or near it's peak with good definition. I don't expect any revelations to derive from this, just dealing with the obvious. My speciality! J
