On 27/1/16, Doug Brewer, discombobulated, unleashed: >For those of you who don't follow me on Tumblr, which would be, >let's--carry the three, multiply by 3.14--approximately all of you, I >ran up a gallery of decent photos from last year here: >

Merits some in-depth viewing. 1. A private moment captured, love the way the shadows in the reflections surround her. 2. Very soft and low key image mocking the billboard pose. Almost surreal. Very tranquil feeling. 3. Superb picture, a favourite. Nice use of square format, love the patterns and contrast between the almost silhouetted foreground and the high key and hazy background. 4. Simple and effective portrait study with a delightful splash of light on the face. I like images like this with a main subject and a number 2 in the frame - your eye starts on the face and then darts off to see the lamp, then immediately back on the face for more in-depth viewing. 5. Funicular railway at night - wouldn't be the same without the girl walking up alongside. Blur and contrast gives it immediacy and 'happening' qualities. 6. Another portrait, this time a haphazard collection in the frame, lots of interest that keeps circling around and back to the face. 7. High contrast silhouettes and shadows. Graphic image we all know. 8. Really delicate portrait of a beautiful woman. Love the focal planes in this and the deep shadows contrasting the gentle swathe of light on her face. A knowing smile adds delight. 9. Mysterious low key urban street scene - could be anywhere warm. I can hear the dog barking out of sight, the distant radio. Very atmospheric. 10. Absolutely great photograph here - my other favourite. Charming pose with just the right amount of face. Love the contrasting patterns between her hair and the wood slats, the shirt and the wooden board. Beautiful qualities and a beautiful model - what's not to like? Well done sir - please let me know when your next book is out! -- Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ Broadcast, Corporate, || (O) | Web Video Production ---------- <www.seeingeye.tv> _____________________________ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
