Very interesting. I like that it is nearly monotone, and I like the geometry of the progressing rectangles.
I might crop it much closer to the lower left corner of the shadow, and while I was at it, I might crop it square, starting in that corner.
I think that this is a photo that really needs to be printed to have the best effect, too much shadow detail gets lost on the monitor.
