Looking at conversion rates:
US dollars to Japanese Yen, then Japanese yen to Euro, Canadian dollar &
Australian dollar.

USD 1,800.00
JPY 204,374.24
EUR 1,619.30
CAD 2,468.63
AUD 2,516.79

Does not include local taxes & import duties.

If David Brooks is right about the Canadian price, that's about 45%
tacked on.

You might not have to if the price is as low as they say.

All the rumors I've seen before put the price up over $2,000, but
they're saying $1800 ($1799).

$3500 Canadian, plus a free barrel of oil

At that price I think you'd want more than one barrel...

At the current exchange rate, the price in Australia would be just north
of $2500. Even if I was in the market for FF, that's more than I'd be
prepared to shell out by a considerable margin.

Alright I've read the first two pages of the DPReview article, and they
say wide open metering with K mount lenses... I'm beginning to worry
that I might have to hock my mother.

By the way. I gather the sensor is *just shy* of full frame. It's
not
36mm x 24mm !

Sensor size: 35.9 x 24.0mm

Of course, 35mm film expressed its frame size in whole numbers. So it
would be appropriate (apples to apples) to round 35.9 x 24.0 to
remove
the decimal point.... let's see. What do we get?
:)

Looks like what we're going to get is a whole lot of waffling, weasel
words and lame excuses.

Ma nishtana ha laila hazeh?

Or, for the goyim:

Why is this night different from all other nights?
