I was previously unaware of these clever devices, but I apparently
picked this up in a kit of other stuff that I purchased. If you know
someone who is trying to achieve Hollywood looking video with a
consumer video camera, pass this along to them please...

If you shoot video, you know that the thing that separates the BIG
EXPENSIVE video cameras from the consumer cameras is the size of the
sensor and (thus) the nice shallow DOF that makes video look
"Hollywood" and allows you to isolate your subject while blurring out
everything else. Well, THIS clever device allows you to get that nice
thin DOF with small-sensor video cameras.

One one end of this adapter you put a Canon EOF lens. (F/2.8 or faster
is recommended. A lot of people use the common EOS 50mm f/1.8). That
lens image is projected on a screeen on the back of the filter. On the
other end is a 49mm thread that you screw onto the front of your video
camera. My kit includes a 37-49mm stepdown ring so that it will screw
onto video cameras with the common 37mm thread (like a lot of Canon
Vixia models, etc.) Also included are two 37mm Neewer close-up filters
(+1 and +10). For some cameras you may need the close-up filter to
focus on the filter's screen.

Mine is like new in the box and priced at $129 plus actual shipping to
your address.
