Very appropriate!
I haven't seen many float planes. I remember a Cessna 185 on Kariba & the
Empire Flying Boats which flew from London (the Thames) to Durban harbour
via Egypt & a lot of lakes on the way until about 1958. The Zambezi above
Vic Falls & Lake Mcilwaine just outside Salisbury & the Vaal Dam are three I
can remember. We also had a Catalina in Phalaborwa for about a year doing
some kind of geological surveys at low level with sensors hanging down. Of
course, Catalinas can operate from normal runways too.
