Same as I use, Nicole. Be sure to set Mail to default to plain text only. I 
find that occasionally it switches to rich text on replies, so I always check 
the mode before sending. 

As aside, using the iCloud web Mail client always fails as you cannot force it 
to send plain text. The iOS Mail app usually works if set to reply with plain 
text, but will output as rich text if the reply contains any recognized HTML 
links or graphics. On iOS you can also use the PlainText app to send to the 
PDML successfully.
