Have to say I really didn't understand what Jack meant by "strong" so I thought he was talking about the other ladybug shot :-)

Jack sent me his softened background version off-line, and the difference if
you look at the background is *very* subtle, (I had to put the two versions
side by side on my large work monitor) but it does seem to make the ladybug pop
quite pleasingly. It is amazing what such a subtle change can do!

Nicole,
I received a quick query from Ann reflecting surprise at my "strong" (A little)
reaction to
your terrific Lady Bug Shot background.
Understand, it doesn't "need" softening, but it is something I would consider
were it mine.
I'll confess that I down loaded the image, but it will be removed now or
immediately after
you've seen my subtle softening effort.
I feel it gives Madam Bug more presence and she now jumps off the scene.
I await your instructions.:)

Hmm, I might be able to soften that up a bit in Lightroom. I’ll play with it
and see how it looks.

I particularly like this ladybug :-) the placement of her in the
frameand the good bokeh.. - very nice

and the shamrocks..but all the flowers are nicely composed and exposed -
just some are a bit too
soft for my taste... which many of mine are that were taken with film
hand held.

I took a break from being Larry’s voice controlled light stand, and shot a few

I particularly liked the daisy shots: https://flic.kr/p/EcssKG

We've been having some gorgeous weather and the flowers in my garden are

I think this one might be the best:

Here are all 16 from several sessions that might be keepers:
