This has been my experience as well, Paul, and interestingly enough, I have the 
current versions of OX 10 on  a 2011 desktop.  The desk top runs a tad slow 
because I haven’t upgraded the RAM yet, but I have no problem with drivers for 
my Epson scanner and printer.   I’m also running the current version of 
Lightroom 6, which runs a tad slow on the desktop because I haven’t upgraded my 
RAM yet, but it’s still definitely very workable.  Absolutely, no problems with 
speed on my laptop, which has all latest versions of everything etc.  But I 
don’t do any special configurations with my tech, which could possibly add 
complications and require more time installing.
