I'm certainly no expert on Wordpress, but have had to deal with it long enough to know it can be a nightmare (hacker's target). Step 1 for me, post-installation is to install the Wordfence plug-in and configure it. (Google for suggested configuration settings). You have to constantly make sure that you have updated the themes and plug-in you have installed (and UNinstall any themes or plug-ins that you are not using... they are just unnecessary security risks.
Also, where is this installation hosted? It is possible that your host automatically upgraded Wordpress to a new version that has a compatibility problem with the plug-ins used for video or photos. Might be helpful to have an URL. Have you confirmed that everyone is seeing this behavior and not just you?
