Nice. I might borrow the idea. One issue I see is spacing. Assume I have 5 lenses of different diameter; four mounted on the “rail” in the bag, one on the camera. Camera lens comes off, new one from the bag goes on. Used lens goes into the bag IFF the gap left is large enough… A way around this would be to hove one spot for each lens, with the disadvantage that you have one lens on camera, x in the bag, and one empty slot in the bag. But I can see this having real potential. You could have 2-3 different lens-board inserts for your bag and choose the one that accommodates the lenses you’ll be using on a given occasion.
A different trick I picked up here many years ago. Take two rear lens caps, epoxy them together. Once the joint is dry, I put a strip of electrical tape or book binding tape around the joint to stabilize it against the torque from mounting/dismounting lenses. Have never had a set come apart. The point of this is of course that you can put two short lenses into the space for a longer lens without them banging into one another. stan > On Mar 23, 2016, at 6:40 PM, Larry Colen <[email protected]> wrote: > > A few nights ago, Nicole sent me a link to this gadget, which basically works > as a socket rail for lenses: > https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1338372981/lensracks-quick-change-camera-gear-storage-system/description > > Unfortunately, they don't support Pentax lenses.
