Shot some pics at the Stage Nature Center in Troy, Mich. this morning. I would guess this woodland is several hundred acres, so it provides something close to natural habitat for the critters. It’s not completely fenced, so the population moves in and out a bit. The deer are definitely less shy than those in the wild, which is a good thing for a photographer.
Here’s a little gallery of this morning’s pics: http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=1090436 This is my favorite. Two woodpeckers ready to do battle: http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=18223288&size=lg All shot with the k-3, DFA 150-450 and 1.4X converter. BTW, the last time I ventured this far into the nature center was a month of so before my knee operation. I couldn’t walk more than a few hundred yards before the pain became unbearable. That convinced me to go for the operation. Today was pain free, although i was very cautious, given all the tree roots on the trails. Don’t want to fall on the new knee yet, since the bone is still bonding.
