K-1 delivered about an hour ago. Camera setup partially completed; I will have to read the manual to find what some of the options mean.
The camera is larger than the K-3. And heavier. But really not all that much difference. It is all relative. Compared to the 645Z, both K-3 and K-1 are “small” and “light” and similar to one-another. Shutter seems louder than on the K-3. I’ll check that later with identical lenses and camera settings. Nice view through the viewfinder. AF seems brisk with 77/1.8 and 24/2.0 I haven’t done the setup yet to dial these in to ensure accuracy. I am going out to dinner with Meg, our once-a-week chance to go out on our own. I’ll play with the camera tomorrow. BTW, speaking of the 24/2.0: it is nice to have a proper wide angle again! Yes, the 15mm on APS-C is about equivalent FOV, but somehow the 24mm on the K-1 just feels wide. I think the K-1 is a keeper. stan -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
