Bartlett Tower, on the campus of Dartmouth College, located behind the
physics building, where I spent much of my first two years, and the
observatory.  I used to climb the stairs to get a better view of the
Northern Lights, but they have locked the gate, so I couldn't climb up
last weekend.

The tower marks the spot if the fabled "Lone Pine,"  were the founder
of the school, Rev Eleazar Wheelock, is said to have met with the
Sachen of the local Native Americans to get permission to start a
school for the education of local native boys.
