Yeah - USPS is delivering small FEDEX packages in my neighborhood... but
the UPS guy I see on the street is normally loaded up with Amazon boxes.
"induction" is new to us though :-)

Interesting description... I've noticed that the USPS is handling
final delivery of smaller UPS parcels lately so I'd assume your mail
carrier will drop the book off rather than a UPS driver - but just a
guess. My first impressions of the collaboration are good - I've
gotten a couple packages with my mail on Saturday morning, and AFAIK
UPS does not deliver on Saturdays (at least not around here.)

I ordered my copy of the Annual when it became available. Chose
low-dollar shipping option. It was printed/shipped quite promptly via
the UPSMI system. A new UPS offering? Since then, I am not sure where
it has been, the status-check has been remarkably uninformative. But
a check a few minutes ago yielded this message, one which I have
never seen before:
Package enroute to USPS for induction
I am not quite sure what sort of ceremony they have for inducting
books into the USPS, but I hope it is one that properly recognizes
the stature of this particular book!
