Sorry, profusion was the wrong word, I meant widespread. The Southern
African ground orchids are not common either.

BTW, our local Orchid expert (Jimmy Rogers) said he knows about those
Orchis
ground orchid species which occur in profusion all over Europe but said we
don't have anything quite like them here. He has a huge collection of
equatorial forest species & is off to Ecuador on a sort of "Orchid Tour"
later this year.
