Every SDM lens I have used has been dog slow. My Bigma crushes the 60-250 in terms of focusing speed. My 20-40 is pretty slow too. Thankfully I rarely shoot action. The SDM lenses seem to hunt less but they do seem to micro adjust a lot which makes focus kind of on the slow side. the 17-70 i have is usually pretty snappy but it also misses a whole lot. the 60-250 is almost always dead on if I get if a chance.
