Best one I've found (and I use it extensively for exactly those purposes) is 
WinX DVD Ripper for Mac (http://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-ripper-for-mac/). It can 
handle most DVDs and has many output templates for various uses. 

I've been using this software for several years and it has done very well by me 
for the modest price they charge.
