If I’m lucky, he may bring it to lunch tomorrow?
As to the chance of my having it with me, I do not plan to sleep with it
in the bed, but other than that, it will probably be close to hand for
most of the time in the near future.

I bobbled the controls, so that was hand held at 0.3 seconds.
Fortunately the shake reduction works pretty well and I still got a
recognizable photo of my backyard. I'll continue adding photos to that
set as I learn the new system.
Notes:
I have small hands, so the camera is sized just about perfectly for me.
It is, however, rather heavy. The mirror/shutter sound has changed.
They've moved the buttons around again. It is probably an improvement,
the photo review button is now accessible with my right thumb, which
makes reviewing shots in the process of shooting much easier. I don't
have to take my left hand off the lens. I just need to retrain myself.
Switching between a K-1 and a K-3 will be mentally challenging though.
The 15-30 is huuuuuge. K-1 and 15-30 together weigh in at 4.8 lbs
(2.2kg?) on my bathroom scale. The 15-30 also has no provision for a
filter. But, since wide angle work was on of my primary reasons for
getting the K-1, I decided that the 15-30 and 28-105 was the way to go.
This gives me 15-105 in weather sealed glass, so I'm set for a lot of my
outdoors work. If I need to go long, I'll use the K-3.
Last week I noticed that Adorama said that they had a few K-1 bodies in
stock. I called them up and the salesman said they were in, but spoken
for, but if I ordered I'd be #3 on the wait list, and they expected more
in this week. They did not, however, have the 15-30. Saturday, I
noticed that B&H had the 15-30 in stock, so I ordered it. By amazing
luck, everything arrived together today.
It is going to be interesting learning this new camera, and what it can
do. I'd love to hear what interesting things other people learn or
discover about theirs.

I expect I won't see Larry's face for the next week as there will be a K1
permanently affixed there.
