I have recently conducted an experiment to see if there is a noticeable difference in sharpness from locking up the mirror -- and in fact, there is, at slow shutter speeds such as 1/15th second.� If you would like to see a side by side comparison, go to�http://ca.geocities.com/spirope/mxmlu.htm�BTW, I now have my MX modified so that a gentle push on the shutter button locks up the mirror, and the "quick flick" is not needed.
