Scary stuff.

I was cleaning a drawer with old equipment, and happened to look through
the viewfinder of this otherwise pristine K1000SE:

There's no lens on the camera, the fungus appears to be on the viewfinder
optics. This camera was last used maybe 8-10 years ago.

The camera is now at the bottom of a box destined to the recycler. My
lenses, which were on a nearby drawer and seem all clean, are baking under
the California sun now, apertures open and caps off.

If you have old cameras laying around, make a point of checking them every
now and then. Especially if they re anywhere near lenses that you care
about!
