I was tasked with getting a camera for a coworker at work. He is to take "assembly photos" of our manufactured machines. During winter months, that means either low light work (using only the interior overhead fluorescent lighting) or some sort of flash. We have a Pentax Sigma Ring Flash that I have used before for that purpose.
So I decided the most "bang for the buck" would be to get him a K-5 iis and a DA 16-45mm f/4. It will handle higher ISOs well, we can both use the ring flash and (in a pinch) he can use my other lenses, if required. I got one from an Amazon Marketplace seller with a couple of batteries and grip for $475. I can also assist him with any operational issues he might have with it (where I would be less helpful with another brand). He seems pretty excited about it. I've sent him the 4.9 out of 5.0 star reviews at Amazon and the equally enthusiastic reviews at Pentax Forums to whet his appetite. -- “The Earth is Art, The Photographer is only a Witness ” ― Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Earth from Above -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
